A 10-year-old wants to conquer Hollywood with his idea for a family-friendly mafia comedy. The script is ready and a producer is already on board.
Some screenwriters spend their entire lives trying in va in to get in to Hollywood, but Connor Esterson managed it at the age of 10. He imagined a film in which a child discovers that his neighbor is an old mobster. As “Home Alone” meets “The Godfather,” Esterson describes his concept, although he himself admits that he hasn’t seen “The Godfather” yet.
Esterson is certainly not the first child to dream of making his own film, but in most cases it remains a pipe dream – not in this case. A film producer was so excited about the idea that he brought “Green Book” author Nick Vallelonga on board, who then co-wrote a full screenplay with Esterson called “Little Wiseguy.”

It certainly helped that Esterson isn’t a complete stranger in Hollywood. After minor supporting roles in TV series, he played a leading role in Robert Rodriguez’s Netflix film “Spy Kids: Armageddon” in 2022. Producer Joe Isgro is also a family friend who first passed the film idea on to “Bad Boys” producer George Gallo and then to Nick Vallelonga.
A good pinch of vitamin B played a not insignificant role here, but of course there is still a long way to go until the finished film. Incidentally, Esterson is not Hollywood’s youngest screenwriter: director Robert Rodriguez wrote the film “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D” in 2005 together with his then 8-year-old son Racer.
