After the closed beta, The Outlast Trials horror game announces its release date with a non-final version that will be playable in a few weeks.
Outlast is one of the scariest horror franchises out there. But for the next installment, The Outlast Trials, the developers are changing the formula. You can scream, but you won’t be alone.
The Outlast Trials playable before official release
The Outlast exams will shake up the series by introducing a cooperative dimension for up to 4 players. In a mid-Cold War context, people are being recruited against their will by the Murkoff Corporation. Once incarcerated, they are used for brainwashing and mind control tests. Players must help each other survive by avoiding the traps that prevent them from escaping.
During the Cold War, human guinea pigs are forcibly recruited by the kind folks at Murkoff Corporation to test advanced brainwashing and mind control methods. In a world steeped in mistrust, fear, and violence, your morale will be questioned, your stamina will be tested, and your sanity will be shaken. All in the name of progress, science and profit. Work together with your friends to survive.
Over Epic game store.
In the latest trailer for The Outlast Trials, Studio Red Barrels shows us voice actors screaming, moaning and feigning fear. But this trailer was mainly shot to announce that the game will be available in Early Access from May 18, 2023
And the version PS5 / Xbox Series X|S ?
A definitive release date? Not yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’s 2023. If you don’t have a PC, you have to be very patient. The developers have not yet communicated about a console version.
