Die Muppets in Westeros
Anyone who has read “Fire and Blood” already knows that George RR Martin makes no big secret of his fondness for the Muppets. There is not only one Lord Grobi Tully, he also has a grandson named Elmo Tully, whose children are called Kermit and Oskar.
This joke that Martin allo wed himself in his Targaryen Chronicles has now made it into the series. Lord Grobi Tully is mentioned during a council meeting, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren are not mentioned on this occasion. Nevertheless, we finally know that a Kermit is up to mischief somewhere in the Riverlands in the HBO series.
Helaenas Vision
In episode 6 of “House of the Dragon” we meet Helaena Targaryen as she devotes her full attention to a centipede. Alicent keeps her daughter company until her son Aemond storms in and reports that Aegon and Rhaenyra’s sons teased him in the dragon pit about not having a dragon.
Alicent assures him that he will receive a dragon and Helaena, lost in thought, says that he must close one eye. She could be referring to the centipede, but this seemingly unrelated sentence suggests that Helaena could have seen the future in a vision.
In fact, Aemond “closes” his eye before he gets a dragon – permanently. In the argument, Lucerys Targaryen gouges out Aemond’s eye, and in return King Viserys gives the boy the dragon Vhagar.
