In the podcast, Micha and Maurice talk to Ruben and Fabian from RedRocket about hacking in general and how they found this specific vulnerability in AoE 2.
Because this actually allows blatant cheats that also work in AoE 2 ranked matches. Here are just a few examples.
- Own units automatically evade catapult projectiles.
- Enemy units can be remotely controlled at any time.
- A “kill button” can be added to opponents so that they can be killed with a click of the mouse.
- A game can be won immediately
