I have no idea how to play poker. I have never played poker. I’m not too interested either. I’m talking about the game itself, its mechanics, strategies and particularities, not about the bets. That topic interests me even less.
I’ve had a great time with Balatro.
Balatro It is not a poker game, although it may seem that way. Use poker decks. Use poker mechanics. If you know what a straight flush, two pair or a full house is, you will know how to play your hands in Balatro. If you don’t know, you will learn. And it will still not be a poker game.
The important thing is that I had a great time with Balatro and I still have no interest in poker.
Balatro, absolute madness
Balatro It’s a card game. Of poker cards, but also of tarot. If you draw a tarot card in a traditional poker game, some men in black appear out of nowhere, carry you away and make you drink a lot of water through a cloth in an abandoned basement. Balatro It is not a poker game, nor a fortune teller simulator, but you can play with poker and tarot cards with the same naturalness with which you put on pajamas to sleep.
There are also planet charts.
If you draw a card with a planet in a traditional poker game, they put you in a car with a sack over your head, tie your feet with a chain anchored to a large boulder, and throw you into the river. If you draw a tarot card and a card with a planet in a traditional poker game, you can already get an idea of what awaits you.
Balatro It is a game where you can use poker cards, tarot cards, planet cards and open metallic envelopes between one game and the next. In BalatroLuckily, there are no bets. Instead, there is a goal of chips to get each round, which are earned by playing cards, activating effects, multipliers and a thousand other cool things.
BalatroI think it has already been clear, it is better than poker in everything.
My first game was a disaster. The next one, however, too. Later, with the game unleashing its absolute madness before my eyes, I began to not only reach the target number of chips to advance to the round, but surpass it; to buy new cards in the store that appears after each round; to use tarot cards, planet cards, crystal cards and jokers to blow up any convention that could exist in a card game that looks like poker but is not.
Viva Balatro.
