If you are one of the very many people who have followed the series religiously game of Thrones
The young Irish actor, who was barely of legal age when the first season was filmed, held that heinous role until his character finally left the world of Westeros in season four. However, in an interview with Vulture magazine, Jack Gleeson revealed his relationship with the series in a bit more detail, and the latter might surprise more than one.
“I only read my own scenes”
During the show’s promotional period, some Game of Thrones actors proved they were at least as enthralled with the latter as viewers who watched it on HBO and OCS. However, Jack Gleeson said he never wants to watch a single episode of Game of Thrones.
Even when I got the script, I only read my own scenes. (…) Maybe I should start… It seems it’s not bad.
In other words, Jack Gleeson admits that he doesn’t know the details of the series’ progression or the famous ending to season eight., which plunged the fans into a still palpable sadness. To justify himself, the King Joffrey Baratheon interpreter plays the card of the series’ complexity:
There’s too much catching up to do. I have no idea what’s going on. In my mind, all of these characters are still alive and they’re all in the same place.
A disinterest that didn’t prevent him from doing his job well, especially since he had previously gotten to know his character particularly well. In the same interview, he admits to actually spending some time on the books’ Wikipedia pages to get the full story of his character as well as the way it ended. The events of his fourth and final season therefore came as no surprise to him, and the latter even adds that he felt no disappointment.
as a reminder Jack Gleeson used the end of his Game of Thrones engagement to put his acting career on hold. It is true that he had already indicated that he regarded this pleasure in acting as a personal pleasure and would rather devote himself to his studies.
