Salve, dear Anno friends! We recently asked you what features you would like to see in the new Anno 117: Pax Romana. And what should we say? The result makes the Senate of Rome proud!
A total of 1,732 people voted and two features voted close together to the top spots. But see for yourself:
The result is, of course, just as Roman as unsurprising. Because with your greatest wish Advanced diplomacy and warfare
you cleverly combine the new setting with the strengths (and weaknesses?) of the Anno series. Complex trade agreements and commodity chains have always been one of Anno's strengths, while in your opinion warfare can be expanded a little further so that it finally comes into its own in the new part.
You explained what that could look like in the comments.
Lazygraf writes something like:
For me, warfare, especially fighting on land, as that was Rome's great strength.
However, this has to be implemented well; fights in the old Anno parts were unfortunately always half-hearted and boring.
Davki90 explains something more about the topic of diplomacy:
What I would most like to see is a more developed political system, like in Frostpunk 2. But it would also be very cool that you could play “pirates”.
In Frostpunk 2 you can pass laws and regulations, although they require a simple or even a two-thirds majority. People from your city are voting. And of course you only get that if you take all interest groups into account.
Speaking of interest groups: We spoke to the creative director of Anno as well as the two strategy kings Radlerauge and Maurice about the new Anno at gamescom. Here you can find out what Anno wants to do differently, better and new:

The water has to flow
In addition to war and diplomacy, one of the most famous Roman buildings should not be missing: aqueducts! Anyone who paid attention in Latin class knows that this word means nothing other than carries water
means and thus explains very strikingly the meaning of this invention.
Aqueducts were the early form of water pipeswhich brought fresh spring water from their origin to Rome and thus supplied the city with the valuable commodity. Since there were no electric pumps back then, they always had to be built with a slight incline. The whole construct fits perfectly with Anno, the Romans and strategic building games in general. No wonder this feature is one of the must-haves for you.
In addition to the answer options we provided, there were of course some other suggestions in the comments. Among other things, the desire for a blueprint mode and co-op right when the game is released.
A free construction mode with a huge map and the desire for fewer islands and more mainland for gigantic cities are also on your list. It is currently still uncertain which features will make their final appearance in the game. Anno 117 is scheduled to appear in 2025 – there is no specific date yet.
