When it comes to Pokemon merchandise, you won’t often find me venturing outside of the “Plushies” and “Trading Card Game” sections of the Pokemon Hub website. That said, it showcased a whole new clothing line inspired by Team Rocket and street style that made my bank account shudder.

Pokemon costumes are fine if you like graphic t-shirts or Pokemon-embellished backpacks and socks, but it never had a huge appeal to me. While there’s a wide variety of clothing to fill your basket with, I’ve found a lot of Pokemon costumes to be too childish for me, which isn’t a blow to anyone currently wearing a Pikachu tee. It just never appealed to my taste.
However, the latest clothing line from the Pokemon International Company has changed my mind. The Team Rocket HQ apparel collection is streetwear-inspired; the clothing included is stylish but basic, in unisex silhouettes, emblazoned with the Team Rocket “R” and that’s it.
The collection includes shorts, hats, shirts, hoodies and bags, featuring relaxed fit and functional details. That means the collection is basic enough to mix and match with ease to create outfits that not only look stylish, but also pay homage to Pokemon’s greatest villains!
Clothing is made up of Team Rocket’s signature colors red, white and black, again making it easy to match clothing and items. Honestly, as I write this, I think I’m selling the series more to myself.
After all, anyone in the UK who spends £60 on an order containing one or more items from the range can get a free Ekans Sitting Cutie Plush… I really want an Ekans.
