Anyone who has played a Fromsoftware title is probably familiar with the wall illusions, which you have to hit once with your sword to reveal them. Or like Dark Souls 2, when fans abused the X button while running up against every possible wall. Now fans have found another way to make some walls disappear in Elden Ring.

What won’t go away anytime soon is the passion that our author Sascha Penzhorn has built up for the Souls series over the years. If you want to know what he thinks about Fromsoftware’s latest prank, don’t miss his column:

How much does an absolute Souls pro like it?

Not one, not two, but 50 hits

The Reddit user Teristam has made an incredible discovery for Souls fans. In the legacy dungeon House Vulkan there is a hidden secret path that can be opened by dealing damage to a wall. The big difference to the already known secret passages is that you need 50 hits to flatten this wall to the ground.

Der User SpytheSnail already has under the post found another wall, which also vanishes with multiple hits, revealing a room with a painting of Rya in her snake form. This suggests that this is not an isolated case and perhaps some of these walls may be hiding in the world of Elden Ring.

Why the player came up with the idea of banging against the wall 50 times is another sheet of paper. One thing is for sure though, if it’s not a bug, it could start a real scavenger hunt, with hordes of Elden Ring players absentmindedly beating up any wall that even remotely looks suspicious.

Even the well-known Soulslike YouTuber Iron Pineapple is over the moon and shared the clip on Twitter:

Weapon choice changes a lot

In a self-test, we found out that you don’t need 50 hits with every weapon. With a greatsword, the wall disappeared after about ten hits. In addition, the passage does not remain open. The wall reappears after visiting another Place of Grace. The first illusion wall doesn’t reveal any special shortcut either, which makes things even weirder.

If you have already stumbled over these walls or found even more, write it in the comments! Who knows what secrets still hide in the world of Elden Ring.
