Fallout starts on 11. April 2024 a new series on Amazon Prime based on the game series of the same name. Although a completely new story will be told in the total of eight episodes, fans can still look forward to familiar elements from the games, such as vaults, power armor and iconic monsters.
In one Interview with Den of Geek Director Jonathan Nolan and Fallout developer Todd Howard now reveal that some things had to be left out.
Please don’t do that
Basically, the creators of the series had a lot of freedom: The series takes place after all previously released games, so you could build on everything that has been told since the release of the first Fallout in 1997. Nevertheless, Nolan wants to tell an independent story in the post-apocalyptic world that doesn’t simply copy the story of one of the games.
Todd Howard, the head developer at Bethesda Game Studios, not only carefully ensured that the series fits the Fallout lore. According to his own statement, he also made sure that the story doesn’t overlap with that of Fallout 5 either
Well, there were some things where I said Don’t do that because we’re going to do that in Fallout 5
