Poking yourself on a cactus can be quite painful. But what if the cactus comes to life and starts firing its spikes like a machine gun? That’s the premise of Cactus. Here, you play as a desert plant and want to take revenge on the mad sun god who killed your family. In the single-player shooter, you shoot spikes in continuous fire or in a destructive salvo and form cactus flowers, which you then use as grenades. In terms of gameplay, the whole thing is reminiscent of Duke Nukem or Doom; you rush through desert levels at high speed and shoot down entire hordes of lizards. Cactus is due to be released on Steam in March 2025, but if you want to slip into the green skin of the angry plant now, you can try out a free demo on Steam.
