The new DLC for Crusader Kings 3 revolves largely around the Byzantine Empire.
With the DLC Roads to Power, Crusader Kings 3 offers a new way of ruling your own empire that differs from previous methods. There is also a new way of playing that almost turns the strategy title into a role-playing game.
Roads to Power was released on September 24, 2024 on Steam and in Microsoft Store for the price of 30 dollars.

The DLC offers you two new career pathsAs a nobleman in the Byzantine Empire, you are not faced with a feudal system, but with a administrative government. This consists of a network of governors who fight for positions in the empire.
Of course, you get involved – whether you play fair or not is, as before, up to you. If you win the title of emperor, this game will of course not stop and you will have to keep other aspiring nobles under control.
In the second variant you can Adventurers without property and land roam the realms. Over generations you accumulate gold, fame and power until you settle down somewhere.
Roads to Power also includes many new Byzantine-themed elements, including Byzantine clothing for the nobles at court, activities such as horse racing, and music inspired by Christian Orthodox chants.

The first reactions to Road to Powers are very positive, but it remains to be seen how well the new DLC for Crusader Kings 3 will perform in the long term.
