Indiana Jones 2: The Grand Circle developer MachineGames, with the help of Geoff Keighly, has finally given everyone what they wanted: a ton of announcement information as part of the Gamescom Opening Night Live event! Alongside a new trailer came the announcement of a PC and Xbox release date, news that the game will debut on Game Pass, and – most surprisingly – that Indiana Jones’ upcoming adventure will be the next Xbox game to come to PlayStation.
Narrated by Troy Baker (standing in for Harrison Ford in the classic fedora), the trailer features plenty of puzzle-solving, gunplay, hand-to-hand combat, and rope-swinging, allowing audiences around the world to finally see what it’s really like to play the game.

In addition to all of this action, we see Mr. Jones taking notes in his journal, taking photos of his surroundings to get more information, and grabbing various odds and ends in the environment. His trusty whip seems especially useful, both for navigating the environment and for grabbing guns from Nazis.
A section of the game was shown exclusively to the press ahead of Gamescom, in which Indiana and his companions explore the interior of the Phinx. In this clip, we see him making his way through hidden ruins, bypassing deadly spike traps, and light-reflecting puzzles that unlock treasures deep within. Typical Indiana Jones style!
We also got to see some additional gameplay content, as Indiana infiltrated a Nazi tent in disguise and snatched an ancient key, all while unsuspecting nearby enemies were unaware. It looks like The Grand Circle will offer you the opportunity to do your adventures as loudly or as subtly as you like. We also got a glimpse at the adventure points that are earned, which the developers told media during their pre-Gamescom presentation will be used to level up and unlock various abilities in the game.
The trailer also comes with some pretty exciting surprises. The first is a firm release date of December 9, which is when Indiana’s latest adventure will hit PC, Xbox, and Game Pass. However, the PlayStation 5 release confirmation – scheduled for spring 2025 after a brief Microsoft exclusivity – is not something we’re necessarily expecting to see tonight, although we’ve recently heard rumors that it could be coming soon.
