Described on the game’s Steam page as a first-person narrative experience, in Reveil, “the player is immersed in a world…the lines between reality and fantasy blur.” You play as Walter Thompson, in a surreal location Wake up, not sure where your wife and daughter are.
The game also sounds like some interesting concepts, with the main character apparently working as a stage setter in a circus before. That circus called Nelson Bro’s Circus appears to be the main setting of the game, and the trailer definitely presents it as something that might not be very friendly to someone with a gallbladder phobia.
Gameplay will be based on puzzle solving and riddles that sound a bit reminiscent of the early days silent Hill game. It’s also made in Unity, which the Steam page specifically highlights, and there’s certainly some strong lighting and environment design on display in the announcement trailer. No specific release date has been set, and there’s no word on a console launch, but it’s expected sometime in 2023.
Reveil seems to be a bit of a change of pace for the German developer, whose previous game was an indoor park management simulator and an earlier title called
deadly day As a 2D cartoon rogue lite in Zombie Apocalypse.
Rest of the world indie horror, vampire survival game V rise Over 500,000 copies have been successfully sold in three days. Although only in Early Access, V Rising puts players in the role of a frail vampire after centuries of dormancy as they attempt to rebuild their health and their castle in order to build a vampire empire.
That’s certainly impressive for a game that hasn’t technically been fully released yet, and it’s ready for future updates.
