It started with a good intention. Unfortunately, the developers at Warner Bros. and NetherRealm went like crazy about it. To celebrate the recently launched Pride Month, the mobile version of Injustice 2 announced a challenge for their community: scrape off Poison Ivy hundreds of thousands of times to unlock different bundles.

We recognize that it was cold and inappropriate to associate our last Global Challenge with Pride. Violence against LGBTQIA + and women in this real life community is being trivialized and we should strive to end it, not normalize it. We apologize to our community and especially to LGBTQIA + members. We strive to listen and act better.
It goes without saying that it was difficult for a fighting game to offer anything other than bread in the face. It’s just that, virtual as they are, you need to know who not to give them to. Maybe even let the players play as Poison Ivy for the event …
