There are only a few months until the WWDC 2025 and slowly the first leaks and information about the planned innovations come in. Even if the Rumor mill hardly provides new functions for iOS 19one of the greatest optical adjustments is expected at all.
Im Detail:
- The website Bloomberg reports of a “fundamental change” of the Apple operating systems.
- The aim is to create a “more consistent platform” and to simplify the control of the individual devices (via Macrumors).
- Specifically, iOS 19 icons, menus, apps, windows and buttons are to be revised.
- The last change was made in 2013 with iOS 7.
The operating systems will probably take over design elements from Visionossuch as the camera app on the iPhone. However, the upcoming updates will not be based entirely on the design language of the mixed reality headset software.
The YouTube channel FPT already showed what the new camera app could look like.
iOS 19: The large Siri upgrade is delayed
The message about the supposedly large design adjustment comes just a few days after it became known that the large Siri update was postponed until further notice, probably until iOS 20 next year. We may have to wait even longer.
Originally, the first improvements by the voice assistant for iOS 18.4 were plannedwhich is expected to appear in April 2025.
As can be seen from another report, iOS 19 (in addition to a new design) could focus primarily on optimizing the existing AI functions. Accordingly, the company is working on the expansion of Apple Intelligence to its own apps and possibly on an API for third -party providers.
Nothing has yet been carved in stone. There will be clarity at the earliest at the WWDC, which usually takes place in June. However, the community behind such a design adjustment fears nothing good.
