Week X, Game Y: Children of the future may have to work out in math exams at which rhythm the Epic Store gives away larger or smaller games. Until then, it’s hard to explain. But at least we know that you can count on the dark platformer Darq in the Complete Edition this week.
The campaign runs from October 28 to November 4, 2021. If you strike, you can keep Darq: Complete Edition permanently. The only requirement: you need an Epic account.
And speaking of numbers: Lifetime does not exist infinitely, so here you will find our brief introduction (from now on, guaranteed math joke-free), which should help you to clarify one question: Is Darq the right game for you?
That’s what Darq is all about
Failed: Math is off the table, but there was no talk of science! Darq is a game full of physics puzzles. OK, joke aside: In the role of boy Lloyd, you dream comfortably to yourself until you realize that you can influence the dream. And, more worryingly, that you are no longer awakening from this slumber. It’ll soon turn into a nightmare!
In Darq: Complete Edition you traverse stylishly drawn levels, solve some crazy puzzles and manipulate the physics of the game. You also sneak past enemies, which is a bit reminiscent of the approach of the old school classic Oddworld. In Darq, the lucid dream is the stage for a psychological drama. Instead of a lot of action and violence, Darq relies on the slow build-up of tension and a scary atmosphere.
The art design is reminiscent of a mixture of the modern classic Limbo and Tim Burton films such as Corpse Bride or Frankenweenie. The sound design by Bjørn Jacobsen, who worked on Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman and Eve Online, is on your ears.

DARQ – Gameplay trailer for the dark horror adventure
Suitable for
Anyone who finds artistically tinged horror, gripsy puzzle gameplay and mental cinema entertaining should be well advised with Darq: Complete Edition. The current free game in the Epic Store is a pure single player title. If you are rather bored with this description, you can safely skip Darq.
The full version released by Epic contains the two DLCs The Tower and The Crypt, which bring new locations, game mechanics and physics puzzles. You will also learn more about the story of protagonist Lloyd and his nightmares.
Darq enthusiastically: Up Steam Over 2,600 players are mostly convinced with a whopping 93 percent positive reviews. The press, on the other hand, rated the base game Darq up Metacritic on average only with 70 out of 100 points.
