Apple is currently not a leading provider in the smart home sector. Acknowledging this is unlikely to be difficult for anyone. Most recently, they discontinued the large HomePod and replaced it with a mini version, only to now welcome it back to the Apple family.
Apart from that, Apple is probably working on an iPad-like display that is not being developed for either the iPad or the iPhone. In fact, Apple wants to launch a screen to control smart devices if we find the right one Bloomberg report
More Apple products for the smart home
Apple would probably like to advance further in the smart home area and compete with Google and Amazon with a kind of entry-level iPad. Apart from controlling your smart home devices, the display should be able to play video and audio content.
With the help of magnetic fasteners, the new product should be able to be mounted on walls or other objects. Amazon already offers products such as the Meta Portal or the Echo Show in this area. Google’s Nest Hub is also used as a central hub for smart home control.
Apart from the external screen, Apple is probably putting resources into the development of another new product for the domestic sector. Accordingly, the manufacturer should strive for a combination of Apple TV, FaceTime camera and speakers. However, the group seems to be struggling with difficulties, which is delaying development.
It will probably be a while before we can take a closer look at Apple’s smart home offensive. To be more precise, the manufacturer does not plan to release the display for smart living until 2024.
