Earlier this year, we learned that Frontier was actively developing a new Jurassic World game. While the press release didn’t 100% confirm that the project was Evolution 3, it was the most likely candidate. Now, new details about the company’s portfolio strategy for next year and beyond are adding some clarity.
Via user HeavyGold8 on r/jurassicworldevo, we have further confirmation that the first two Jurassic World Evolution games are a big deal for both Frontier and Universal Pictures, which owns the IP and is preparing to release a new Jurassic World movie next year, although it is still filming. Furthermore, it looks like the company’s next game based on the IP will be released between June 2025 and May 2026 (fiscal year 2026).

The second slide shared by the user features an image from Jurassic World Evolution 2 as a placeholder, and given that the company has directly talked about doubling down on simulation and management games rather than other genre experiments recently, this very much feels like the best hint we can expect in terms of a release window outside of an actual official announcement.
Frontier also stressed that this game, like the two previous Evolution games, is a very close collaboration with Universal Pictures to coincide with the release of the new Jurassic World movie. While the expected window it shared was quite wide, it specifically stated that Jurassic World: Resurgence will be released in early July 2025. If development goes smoothly, there is a good chance that this game will be released around the release of the movie in summer 2025, just like the first Evolution in 2018. For reference, Evolution 2 was released in late 2021, a few months before Jurassic World: Dominion, but let’s not forget that the movie was originally scheduled to be released in summer 2021 but was delayed due to the new crown epidemic.
Directed by Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards from a screenplay secretly written by Jurassic Park director David Koepp, the new film seems designed to return the series to its simpler roots without going back to the earth-shattering path of the recent Jurassic World trilogy. Given how much Frontier accomplished with Jurassic World Evolution 2 and its numerous DLCs, it will be interesting to see how the formula is updated and improved. The studio’s next entry, Planet Coaster 2, is due out later this year.
This new Jurassic World game from Frontier isn’t the only big Jurassic project currently in development. After the wildly successful Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2, Saber Interactive is returning to Jurassic Park with a single-player adventure that could be the survival horror version of the series we’ve been dreaming of. Jurassic Park Alive doesn’t have a confirmed release window yet, but I bet Universal Pictures is hoping it’s close to Rebirth’s release window, too.
