More than ten years ago, information first appeared that a real third part of Jagged Alliance is in the making. Since then, the project has been discontinued, revived, restarted and nobody really wanted to believe in it anymore. But now THQ Nordic has actually given the latest offshoot of the legendary round tactics series a release date.
Jagged Alliance doesn’t tell you anything? No wonder, after all, the last real part of the series, Jagged Alliance 2, was released in 1999. Since then there have been a few spin-offs, but the community received them with mixed feelings – to put it mildly. The fans were all the more skeptical when Jagged Alliance 3 was officially announced in 2010.

The further development history did not necessarily provide for hope. The project was shelved and revived several times before THQ Nordic finally took the reins, signed Haemimont Games (Tropico, Surviving Mars) as developer and got down to serious production.
The studio has so far owed us a release date after the targeted date in 2022 could not be met. Now the publisher is speaking plain language and is giving out a final date for the release of Jagged Alliance 3 with July 14, 2023.
Along with this announcement, the studios also confirmed that modding support would be available. However, not directly with the release, the support for user-generated content will be submitted later. For example, you can influence weapon values or the level of difficulty. If you want, you can also insert a hit probability display including a percentage per mod, here the developers cite the Xcom series as a model.
A feature trailer was also released to coincide with the announcement of the release date. This one introduces you to the essence of the hard-hitting turn-based tactics series if you’re not already familiar with it.
