news culture “James Cameron is the god of sequels”: Avatar 2, the film of the year 2022 even before the cinema release?
Avatar: The Waterway could well be the cinema phenomenon of 2022. While many viewers, more than ten years after the first opus, have been skeptical about the idea of rediscovering the universe created by James Cameron, the few viewers who have seen the film agree that we are dealing with a masterpiece.
The sequel, thirteen years later
It’s pretty crazy to think that Avatar will celebrate its thirteenth birthday this year. James Cameron’s then-groundbreaking film gave viewers an incredible cinematic moment when it hit theaters in 2009. Thirteen years later, the same spectators are surely preparing to return to Pandora and spend a new magical moment in the company of the Na’vi with the arrival of Na’viAvatar: The Way of Water
Obviously releasing a sequel after so many years is a big challenge in itself. James Cameron is the first to know, he wondered if people had any “something else to fuck”. Nevertheless, the legendary filmmaker put all the arguments on his side to be able to convince the audience. And according to the lucky few who have already seen the film, James Cameron’s hard work appears to have paid off. A new shower of praise falls on Avatar 2 the day before its release in France.
“The God of Sequels”
As Avatar: The Way of the Water prepares to hit theaters, reviews continue to pile up. At the moment, the audience is unanimous: this new feature film is a success in every respect. Better still, it would far outstrip its eldest.
James Cameron once again shows filmmakers how it’s done. I’ve said it a thousand times. Never doubt him. AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is how you make epic blockbusters. Emotional, visceral and as big as movies can get. @official avatar

As someone who WANTS – but doesn’t LOVE – the first AVATAR, let me tell you:
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER blew me away.
The sequel was vastly superior in terms of graphics, storytelling, and performance and left my jaw on the floor for the entire run.

As a viewer who liked but didn’t love the first Avatar, let me tell you: Avatar: The Waterway took my breath away. Far superior in terms of graphics, storytelling and performance, this sequel left me speechless from the first minute to the last.
#AvatarTheWayOfWater is pretty incredible. I had faith that James Cameron would raise the bar with the effects, but these graphics are stunning. One stunning image after another. But what struck me the most is how the feats of engineering always felt at the service of character and world-making. pic.twitter.com/MXeN3z8BnP

Avatar: The waterway is truly amazing. I was sure James Cameron would raise the bar for visual effects, but these images are exceptional. One stunning image after another. But what I liked most was how the tech constantly serves the characters and world-building.
The first returns are therefore dithyrambic for the time being. See you tomorrow at the cinema to get an opinion.
