The soap opera of the future DC Extended Universe continues on its course with its fair share of news that has shaken up the superhero movie industry. After Henry Cavill’s unexpected farewell as Superman, James Gunn has commented on Twitter another update about one of Zack Snyder’s heavyweights in his Justice League universe: Ben Affleck.
The one who was once Batman in the Snyderverse seems to be working with the company again, but Not as an actor but as a director. This is how Gunn himself has captured it in a question and answer on Twitter, alluding to Affleck’s desire as a director.
I met with Ben yesterday precisely because he wants to direct and we want him to direct; we just have to find the right project.
Of course it is news that nobody expected, since many thought that the Affleck’s relationship with DC she was broken after everything that had happened with Snyder and his uproarious Justice League. His participation is not yet confirmed, but we are pretty sure that if he ends up directing a work, it will be much more focused on a thriller or mystery than a pure action one seeing his journey in this role.
We will have to see how they all evolve. Gunn’s negotiations and meetings with DCbut everything indicates that we will see a complete renewal of the entire DC universe at the end of this very unstable cycle of the company where four more films are still to be released: Shazam, Blue Beetle, The Flash and Aquaman.
