The Jurassic Park Survival game reveals some new information and is clearly very ambitious and promising. Without a doubt, something that will satisfy fans.
Announced at The Game Awards last December, the Jurassic Park: Survival game generated a lot of interest with the promise of a single-player adventure where players must survive against fearsome dinosaurs on the legendary Isla Nublar, the filming location of the very first movie. Although gameplay footage is still a long way off, some interesting new details have come to light thanks to an interview published by IGN
Jurassic Park takes you on a journey
John Melchior, executive producer at Universal Products and Experiences, confirmed that Jurassic Park: Survival will allow pl ayers to explore both familiar locations from the film, such as the visitor center and the T-Rex enclosure, as well as new, never-before-seen locations on Isla Nublar. The development team worked closely with those involved to imagine what the island would look like after the events of the film. This includes areas we all love, but also places that weren’t shown in the film or were cut off by the storm. Melchior points out that the island plays just as important a role in the story as the characters and the dinosaurs. This approach promises to bring Isla Nublar to life like never before and explore what could have been if things had turned out differently. A very good choice that fans will appreciate.
The game’s creative director at Saber Interactive, Oliver Hollis-Leick, revealed that the game will introduce new characters in addition to Maya, the main protagonist. When asked if the game would also include new dinosaur species not seen in the original film, Melchior hinted that there would be surprises, with a nod to the famous line “Life always finds a way“.
A bit of alien isolation
As for what type of game Jurassic Park: Survival will be, details are still limited, but reports say the game is inspired by Alien: Isolation and places an emphasis on survival and stealth. Hollis-Leick describes gameplay that will require players to use a mix of intelligence, courage and patience to overcome the island’s many challenges.
The island features a variety of terrains, many of which are very challenging. Sometimes players will need to check routes in advance, plan their movements carefully, and avoid the attention of certain predators. Maya, the main character, is neither a superhero nor an action figure, which adds extra realism and danger, as every corner of the island is a potential threat.
