Michael Jackson. Shakira. Fred Astaire. Patrick Swayze. Michael Flatley. Beyonce. Anna Pavlova. Now, mental duck.
Yes, this is correct. Today, my friends, is a special day: Pokémon 54 has entered the ranks of the best dancers ever to grace the face of the earth – and it all happened in a rather unexpected way.
KFC China has released a new toy as part of a Children’s Day sale – which will take place in the region on June 1 – including a Pikachu or Psyduck. This in itself is not news. But wait until you see Psyduck. Wait until you see its hypnotic action. its rhythm.its strength.

According to industry analyst Daniel Ahmed (AKA ZhugeEX), the Psyduck toy has gone viral on social media — no surprise. People all over the world were stunned by Psyduck’s actions. In an age where TikTok dances can make their way into games and cause battle royale popularity, it’s no surprise that Psyduck has captured the attention of Poké Maniacs around the world. Fans outside of China are snapping up Dancing Psyducks for over $120 on auction sites.
Some unscrupulous trainers stick scraps of paper on the Psyduck and use its dancing abilities to advertise…anything they want, basically. Given that a KFC vat meal in KFC China will now give you two Pikachu toys along with this little duck, some fast food lovers in the area can make a lot of cash from the toys. .

While you’d think it’s odd to see Psyduck getting so much attention, it’s not surprising, really: Junichi Masuda — one of the founding members of Pokémon developer Game Freak and a director of the studio’s board — has previously pointed out that Psyduck is considered the opposite of Pikachuin Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! Let’s go, Ibrahimovic! The little duck ended up being overlooked because of its resemblance to Pikachu. Shh. Masuda has stated more than once that Psyduck is his all-time favorite Pokemon.
It’s unclear if Psyduck will make it to European or North American shores. We don’t really have a “Children’s Day”, so unless there’s a wider Pokémon sale on our shores, we’re probably doomed to a bland life for the foreseeable. Unless you have an extra $120 or more in your pocket.
