After a successful debut, Czech game developer Warhorse Studios is back with a sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which fans will be able to play later this year.
Simple title Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2the new game promises to be another realism-focused action RPG – set during the chaotic civil war that raged in 15th-century Bohemia, a historic region of the world that encompassed the modern-day Czech Republic most areas.
Players once again take on the role of Henry Skarlitz, the returning protagonist from the first game. Henry’s story continues – the developers promise more hours of cutscenes than its predecessor, a more epic story, and a larger open world for Henry to explore. In a presentation to press, the game’s developers boasted that the word was twice as large. See the debut trailer below.
What we saw in the brief gameplay announcement released to the press looked impressive in its scope and ambition. Building directly on the original game concept, coupled with a massive increase in team size, seems to have allowed Warhorse Studios to go further than ever before.
The game once again uses CryEngine and is developed for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Player choices will form part of the adventure, with the world and its characters reacting directly to your choices and Henry’s actions. The full-fat RPG system allows you to customize more or less everything about the protagonist, while the world is still promised to be a “breathtakingly authentic” recreation of 15th-century Bohemia – something that will inevitably spark controversy between die-hard fans and Debates over degrees of accuracy. History buff.
The first game received rave reviews from critics and currently has a score of 76 on Metacritic. However, it struck a chord with gamers and sold 6 million copies. With the concept confirmed, the sequel is now targeting expansion.
As it stands, we don’t have an exact release window for the game, but it’s actually being targeted for later this year. Here are the first screenshots from this adventure:
