news Kingdom Hearts: A speedrunner tries his hand at a totally insane trophy hunt
It’s a big challenge that a German speedrunner has just taken on by setting an absurd goal of combining speedrunning and trophy hunting. And it doesn’t make it easy when you know your choice is the vast universe of Kingdom Hearts.
Seven games, seven platinum in seven days
Kingdom Hearts is a well known franchise for fans of action RPG type video games. Developed and published by Square Enix, this series is the result of a collaboration between the Japanese studio and Disney Interactive Studios, directed by Tetsuya Nomura. A universe as rich as it is vast, chosen by the German streamer and speedrunner called “desa” to launch a masterful challenge. Indeed, at the beginning of the week, on August 7th precisely, The latter has decided to try to win seven platinum trophies corresponding to the seven games of the main series rebooted and released on PlayStation 4 and do it as quickly as possible

- Kingdom Hearts II final mix
- Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth of Sleep – Final Mix
- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance HD
- Kingdom Hearts: Birth of Sleep 0.2

And the challenge doesn’t stop there as “desa” is fixed seven days morean average of one platinum per day.
Tomorrow we start the journey to get ALL (!) Kingdom Hearts Trophies on PS4 as soon as possible!
I had to skip the 12th as I’m writing an exam that day, but otherwise these are the start and potential finish times for each run.
Hope to see you tomorrow π pic.twitter.com/4qv2UYtJogβ desa (@desa3579) August 6, 2022
An ambitious challenge
Therefore, by allowing around 20-30 hours to complete each episode in a straight line, meaning just following the main story, this is not required no less than 115 hours to complete the set
According to his posts on Twitter since the speedrunner started his challenge, It went platinum for Kingdom Hearts Final Mix in 11 Hours and for the episode titled Re: Chain of Memories in Under 20 Hours, not without hitting a few hiccups with the rest of the program and losing a few hours. Final result will follow by August 15th…
Day 1 done!
We got the 1FM Plat in ~11 hours! I wanted 13 as it was my first run but if I hadn’t forgotten to save once this would have been closer to the 10 hour mark!
We’ll start Re:CoM in about 11 hours, so get ready π pic.twitter.com/jf2jDLcqlZβ desa (@desa3579) August 7, 2022
RE:CHAIN ββOF MEMORIES’ FIRST PLATINUM TROPHY!!!
Surprised that I was able to finish this in less than 20 hours despite the length of the level grind for Sora and Riku
Day 2 complete, now onto Day 3 with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix π pic.twitter.com/6PiDb3qW29β desa (@desa3579) August 11, 2022
If the idea seems completely crazy, it’s also an original way to wait before you get your hands on the next work. In addition, if Kingdom Hearts IV was announced as being in development to mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebrations, it is not immediately expected and remains no less mysterious.
