Anyone who hoped to see more of the upcoming Konami titles at this year’s E3 2021 will be disappointed: The company has now announced that it will stay away from the US trade fair.
With Konami, another well-known company in the game industry has now announced that it will not be represented at the E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. The most important game fair of the year will be held in digital form due to the pandemic – but without Konami. The background to the rejection is that one is “deeply in the development process” of several projects.
Specifically, it says: “Due to lack of time, we will not be ready in time to present this at E3 this year. We want to assure our fans that we are deep in the development process of several important projects. Please be patient until a few updates are made in the following months.”
Incidentally, the fact that the E3 is not being attended this year should not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the general view of the trade fair, which has come under criticism from many companies: “While we are not participating this year, we have great respect for ESA and know that 2021 will be a great success. We will continue to support ESA and wish all participants in this year’s show all the best. “
As recently as April, Konami was still one of eight named companies to be confirmed for participation in E3 2021; So now, for reasons of time, the withdrawal follows. For example, anyone who had hoped for a new Silent Hill, which is always rumored to have grown up, will have to wait longer for the time being.
