Yes, it’s almost mid-August, but that doesn’t mean the summer of game announcements is over – we saw last night (August 12th) THQ Nordic Showcasing a slew of new games on the air, including a brand new Solitude in the Dark reboot.
Founded in 2011, THQ Nordic is an Austrian video game publisher and developer that has been snapping up rights to game assets and IP around the world, and funding its own studios to create new series. Developers such as Black Forest Games, Bugbear Entertainment, Gunfire Games, HandyGames, Piranha Bytes, Purple Lamp Studios, Rainbow Studios and more are not only under the THQ Nordic umbrella, but have also worked on internationally renowned series such as Wreckfest, SpongeBob SquarePants and Destory All Humans!
The publisher isn’t just known for sticking to one style — whether you’re into motorsport, action-adventure, role-playing games, or anything else, you’re likely to be interested in something from THQ Nordic. The publisher itself says it hopes to “make a big fight” with this showcase — and with Wreckreation and Alone in the Dark, that mission appears to have been accomplished.
