Do you like the ogre Shrek? Here’s some news that might not go unnoticed. Detailed explanations.
Once again, the media variety delights us with exclusive information from the world of cinema. We’re not talking about Star Wars here, we’re talking about Shrek. In fact, the cult ogre, which has become the darling of the Internet for several years, suggests a sequel to the cinema. How long have fans been waiting for this… Here’s everything we know.
Shrek 5 and a full cast
In fact, as we can learn via Variety, Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri just teased shrek 5. The film is no longer a distant fan dream, but reality. The man wants to reboot the franchise and so we can learn that the fifth episode will feature and benefit from the full cast of the saga, namely Mike Myers (Shrek), Cameron Diaz (Fiona) and Eddie Murphy (The Donkey).
A rich universe that pleases a lot
It must be said that judging by the undeniable success (and quality) of the film Puss in Boots 2: The Final Quest (Shrek spin-off) it was pretty obvious that the production would do anything to bring the green ogre back to the stage. The CEO says:
vYou look at which core elements the audience liked and do your best to honor those core elements. And then you work hard to create story elements and new characters that will take you to new places. The original cast is an important part of everything.
Further we learn that the negotiations with the actors are going in the right direction and everything is going like clockwork:
LNegotiations with the actors are going well. We believe the cast will return. Discussions have only just begun and all the signs we’ve received as feedback are positive. The cast’s enthusiasm for the return is huge.
Variety even asked about the possibility of a Puss in Boots spinoff and the response was:
Without doubt.
So we are clearly on the verge of a new movie set in the universe of Shrekin addition to the long-awaited shrek 5. At the moment we have no release date to speak of and it is better not to expect anything before 2025 or even 2026. But everything is on the right track.
