What’s new on Netflix in December 2020 In this article, we’ll show you what the streaming service has in store for you next month. In addition to an extremely humorous video game adaptation and a four-time Oscar winner, there is finally the next season for some popular series.
The Shape of Water
The Shape of Water by cult director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pacific Rim) is a rather extraordinary love story that is somewhat reminiscent of a mixture of ET – The Extra-Terrestrial and Beauty and the Beast.
During the Cold War, the mute cleaning lady Elisa (Sally Hawkins) worked as a cleaning lady in a secret laboratory of the US government. One day a water tank is brought into the facility containing a mysterious amphibian that the American government has captured in the Amazon and wants to use as a weapon against the Soviets.
During her nightly cleaning shifts, Elisa befriends the creature – half amphibian, half man. However, the feelings between the unequal partners become more intense, so that Elisa soon forges a hair-raising plan.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu
If Shape of Water wasn’t crazy enough, maybe you should take a look at detective Pikachu.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu begins with private detective Harry Goodman disappearing without a trace. His 21-year-old son Tim wants to solve his father’s disappearance and unexpectedly gets help – from none other than Harry’s former partner Pokémon Pikachu.
But the yellow electric mouse doesn’t sound the way you might have expected it if you followed the anime series on television in the 90s: Pikachu is spoken in the film by Ryan Reynolds, who had already been delighted with extremely funny sayings in Deadpool knew.
