The addition of a new mysterious NPC to GTA Online may not sound too exciting on its own, but it might just point to some future content for the popular action-adventure game.
But before we can talk about this NPC, we need to lay some groundwork. Data Miner rollschuh2282 found a new scene spawn point in GTA Online. This spawn point is in front of the Record A studio.
This respawn point is the “movie_set” pedestrian model set excavated from the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 game files. This code sleuth, combined with the recent Vespucci Job remix, which contains numerous references to the film and the film, has led some to speculate that future movie-focused content updates are in the works.
Fast forward a few hours, and Twitter user Tez2, a well-known source of GTA Online updates and more in-game micro-changes, spotted an in-game NPC associated with this movie scene walking around between 7am and 11am –game.
So what can we actually get from this information? Well, on the one hand, that obviously means GTA Online is happening with Los Santos Studios. It doesn’t have to be massive – like heists or lots of new narrative and quest content like we’ve seen with The Contract DLC.
Instead, we might get something smaller related to the region – like new quest types or limited-time events. Having said that, those who have played Covenant will know that Michael – one of GTA 5’s three main characters – is working for Solomon Richards at Richards’ majestic film studio. With that in mind, it’s likely that we’ll see one of the last familiar faces from GTA V single-player in GTA Online soon. At least, we wish we were. Fingers crossed!
