Lords of the Fallen 2: Release period is set, but no release on Steam

After the comeback in 2023, Lords of the Fallen will continue with another part; A rough release period has now been set for this – but there is also bad news.

After the successful reboot of Lords of the Fallen last year, it has been clear for some time that there will be a sequel with Lords of the Fallen 2. To date, the sequel has not yet had a release date, but that has changed today.

A new report on the strategic direction of CI Games, the game’s publisher, explains that developer Hexworks will technically rely on Unreal Engine 5. While the release is scheduled to take place in 2026, we will be able to get an idea of this technical implementation for the first time in 2025, because then the reveal of the new action role-playing game will take place. This game presentation will be accompanied by a “strong marketing campaign”.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether this internal timetable will be adhered to and the game will actually appear in 2026. Changes in this regard are of course possible depending on the development process.
It is already clear that Hexworks wants to appeal to even more players than before with the new part. Therefore, efforts will be made to improve the accessibility of the title, which will be achieved through additional game modes and gameplay improvements. There should also be shared progress between the single player campaign and the co-op mode.
But there is also bad news: Lords of the Fallen 2 will apparently avoid the popular PC platform Steam. The report also revealed that there is an exclusivity agreement with Epic Games, so the PC version will only be available on the Epic Games Store.
Incidentally, CI Games also touched on other titles in the report. In addition to Lords of the Fallen, a new Sniper: Ghost Warrior based on Unreal Engine 5 is in the works under the name “Project SGW”. “Project H,” on the other hand, is intended to be a new fantasy RPG.
