Frostpunk

Frostpunk with DLC – One of the best building games you can play right now
The building game Frostpunk takes place in an apocalyptic future in which the earth is subjected to an eternal winter. As the mayor, you must fight to survive one of the last cities by managing sparse resources and often making tough decisions. The already great game got even better with its expansions, and got a deserved upgrade in the night test.
If you already own the base game or want as much content as possible, you can also grab the Season Pass or the game including DLCs at a much lower price.

The Wandering Village – Early Access Dino Back Building Game Conclusion – Early Access Dino Back Building Game Conclusion
The Wandering Village is a building game with an exciting twist: your entire town is on the back of a giant wandering creature. In order to establish a prosperous settlement, you must take care of the well-being of your living means of transport, and overcome challenges as you travel through different biomes.
As our test shows, this is already a lot of fun in Early Access, but the game should also be fully developed in 2023.

Strictly speaking, Village Romance probably wouldn’t count as a building game, but many building fans will probably enjoy it nonetheless. Here you craft pretty village landscapes of houses, fields, forests and rivers from hexagonal cards. You get points and new cards for matching placements and certain milestones.
Why Petra enjoys the relaxing puzzle game very much, but also lets herself be driven insane at times, you hear in the podcast.
Islanders

Islanders – Trailer shows minimalist city building – Trailer shows minimalist city building
Islanders is another simple but well done game that feels more like a puzzle. You place predetermined buildings on the eponymous islands and have to get as many points as possible for them. You can achieve this by placing a mill in the vicinity of as many fields as possible, or by grouping residential buildings around a city center.
Islanders is an entertaining game, but luckily it doesn’t share the weakness of the latest building trend identified by Géraldine.
