Low Roar, the main group who worked on Death Stranding’s extraordinary soundtrack, just lost their late singer Ryan Karazija.
Low Roar frontman Ryan Karazijia, who was instrumental in the success of Death Stranding, has left the company at the age of 40.
Ryan Karazija of Low Roar (Death Stranding) has died
Ryan Karazija, the incredible voice of the band Low Roar, has died at the age of 40 from complications from pneumonia. The previously relatively unknown American-Icelandic formation exploded thanks to Death Stranding. Hideo Kojima, a fan of their music, put a variety of their compositions in his last game, which made them known around the world. A real revelation for many people who also changed the fate of Low Roar.
Singer Ryan Karazija stated that the group was looking forward to this collaboration with Kojima-san “At the Bottom of the Hole”. And so they accepted Sony’s offer without even knowing what their songs would be used for. During the Low Roar concert in Paris in 2019, following the release of Death Stranding, Ryan Karazija said he was amazed to see an audience of this size compared to his previous performances. Proof that the group knew how to reach the players.
His beautiful music and lyrics, sung with his haunting voice, have touched and will continue to touch the lives of so many around the world. He was a good man with a beautiful soul and our worlds are shattered by his death. May we honor his memory through his art and songs to keep him by our side forever. Low Roar’s sixth album was already in the works. It will be ready and will come out when it is ready. Please respect his family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time.

Hideo Kojima’s tribute
Like many others, Hideo Kojima found it hard to believe the terrible news and took to Twitter to pay tribute to Ryan Karazija.
I have heard of that. I can’t believe I don’t want to believe it. Without Ryan, without you and your music, Death Stranding would not have happened. Your music will live forever in this world and mine. Many Thanks. Rest in peace.

I’ve been listening all morning.
