Not only Pokémon TCG Live has a release date since this weekend, there is also news about another popular trading card game and its digital implementation. This refers to Magic: The Gathering Arena, which is now coming to Steam earlier than expected.
The immensely popular Magic: The Gathering is coming soon to the most famous and widely used PC distribution platform: Steam. What is meant is Magic: The Gathering Arena, which will soon make the leap to the Valve platform – and thus much earlier than expected.
As a reminder: The digital implementation of the long-running trading card went into Early Access via PC client in 2018, mobile versions for iOS and Android followed a few years later. The title should now also conquer Steam on the PC, and that was actually planned for autumn 2023. To the surprise of many, it is now much faster and the title will open there in May.
From May 23, 2023, Magic: The Gathering Arena will also be available for PC via Steam. This means that the number of players should skyrocket again, because that’s where most PC players cavort. The earlier Steam launch was announced as part of a presentation at MagicCon in Minneapolis.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is also scheduled to appear on PlayStation and Xbox, but the release here was last planned for the new year 2024. But who knows: maybe it will also be much faster here in the end? We will keep you up to date!
