The game will finally be officially released on April 26th after a long early access phase and as publisher Hooded Horse announced, nothing stands in the way of a hit because a whopping 2.5 million players now have Manor Lords on their wish list on Steam . If they all hit, the game gets really steep right from the start.
Manor Lords had already broken the 2 million mark in January and has increased significantly since then. Almost euphoric reports from early access are certainly not innocent.
And Manor Lords does indeed have what it takes to be a hit, and not just because of its impressive visual qualities. Manor Lords is a medieval-style strategy game that offers a combination of detailed city-building, large-scale Total War-style tactical battles, and complex economic and social simulations. The gridless construction mechanics are based on real medieval settlements, where trade routes and the environment influenced the design and development.
The game was inspired by the art and architecture of the late 14th century in Franconia and emphasizes historical accuracy. It avoids common medieval clichés in favor of a more authentic, colorful and believable world.
As part of the Xbox Partner Preview, the release date of the medieval city building simulation Manor Lords was confirmed as April 26, 2024.
