Marathon: known system requirements for the first closed alpha

Alpha, closed, marathon, Requirements, System

If you want to play the new shooter marathon on your PC, you can now deal with the system requirements for the first time.

Bungie has confirmed system requirements for the recently newly presented extraction shooter marathon for the first time. These initially apply to the upcoming closed alpha test phase, so they are initially relevant for participants in the test phase in the near future. It can be assumed that the system requirements will decrease until the start of the final game version, because developers usually make optimizations in terms of performance until the end.

Already now at Closed Alpha can be stated: Marathon does not necessarily require a hardcore calculator to be played. The minimal requirements are moderate.

Specifically, PC players need at least the following setup for participation:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6600 / AMD Ryzen 5 2600
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: nvidia geforce gtx 1050 of (4 GB), AMD Radeon RX 5500 xt (4 GB) Oder Intel Arc A580 (8 GB)
  • VRAM: 4 GB
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit (current service pack)
  • DirectX: Version 12 with feature level 12_1

The Closed Alpha for the game starts on April 23, 2025, the full version of Marathon is to be released on September 23 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Bungie also confirmed that no link with a PSN account will be necessary for gaming on PC and Xbox. In this respect, the harsh criticism from the community has apparently learned about such a procedure for other titles.
