Today, March 10th aka Mar10, Nintendo is celebrating Mario Day – and there was all sorts of news to announce about it. Two Mario titles for the Switch have received release dates and a new film has also been officially announced.
Today’s Mario Day should feel like Christmas for fans of the Nintendo franchise, because the Japanese made various news and announcements in a special stream. After the immensely successful animated film “Super Mario Bros. Movie” last year, there will now be another film in cinemas.

In this context, however, the designation as a sequel was avoided, so it remains to be seen whether the new film will follow on from last year’s film or represent an independent adventure.
Aside from the new film, there were – as previously expected in the rumor mill – concrete release dates for two new Mario games for the Nintendo Switch. The beginning will be Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door make, which will be available from May 25, 2024.
