As promised, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope returns with lengthy gameplay footage accompanied by some developer commentary.
Mario + The Rabbids 2 continues to make presentations. After announcing the release date during the last Nintendo Direct Mini, Ubisoft reveals more about the characters, the universe and the gameplay in particular.
Some details about the story of Mario + The Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Mario + The Rabbids: Sparks of Hope takes place in a universe where the world of Rabbids and Mario form a perfect alliance. However, this galaxy is threatened by Cursa, an evil entity that is trying to absorb all of its energy. His physical manifestation is called Darkmess. The Sparks, creatures born from the union of the Rabbids and the Lumas, are also in danger, but they can count on the help of the famous plumber and his friends.
On their mission to end Cursa’s misdeeds, players must travel through many worlds while freely exploring the universe around them. Obviously the whole little gang will encounter a plethora of supporting characters giving various side quests with puzzles and rewards.
Introduced three new characters
Above all, combat is at the heart of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. It’s all about creating a team of three heroes, assembled at will, who can move in real-time during these tactical and dynamic clashes. All strategies are good for gaining an advantage over your opponent, even if you use your enemies wisely. By jumping on them and throwing one of them at the others, causing them to explode.
Each hero also has effective double shots, unique weapons that offer complementary abilities and a special attack to weaken enemies, heal allies, or just deal big damage. Teamwork is therefore essential to create devastating combos and personalize their playstyle.
Three new characters will also be available in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope: Rabbid Harmony, the most jaded of them all, and Edge, a mysterious new rock ‘n’ roll Rabbid who fights with a sword. Bowser will also be there to complete that roster. As a reminder, the game will be available on Switch on October 20, 2022.
