Support for third-person action-adventure games Marvel’s Avengers will end this fall.
Crystal Dynamics made the announcement overnight. The studio said the decision to end development was made with its partners and that now was the “right time” to make a change.
The final update, 2.8, will be released on March 31st, and you’ll find that credits will no longer be available for purchase. At that time, all Credit balances will be converted into in-game resources.
Update 2.7 added the Winter Soldier and the Clone Lab Omega Threat, the last new additions to the game. There will be no new decorations in the store, and all final balance updates will be in March’s update 2.8.
With the end of development, the studio will also close the cosmetics store. On March 31st, all of the game’s Marketplace, Challenge Cards, and Shipment Decoration content will be available for free.
This means that if you own a copy of the game, every outfit, kill, emote, and nameplate in the marketplace, challenge cards, and shipments will be free from that date onwards.
While new content and customer support will end on September 30, single-player and multiplayer games will continue to be available after that date. Multiplayer games will remain accessible after end of support and will continue to require Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus.
The game remains available for digital purchase until September 30th, and while stocks last. No new digital purchases of the game will be available after this date.

Marvel’s Avengers launches on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One on September 4, 2020, and on next-gen systems on March 18, 2021. The game received mixed reviews upon release, with critics citing duplication and technical issues as two of the main sticking points.
After the game was released, the team at Crystal Dynamics released a patch that addressed over 1,000 issues in the game.
While it was actively developed, players received several free DLC packs containing additional characters and quests.
