Mass Effect Legendary Edition: The graphical improvements of the remaster presented
The voices of the testers
The Australian version of the Press Start website awards one of the highest ratings. In his review, author James Berich particularly praised the high quality of the modernizations, the clever gameplay improvements and immensely pimped up graphics.
“Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is one of the best remasters I’ve ever played. The amount of care and effort that went into recreating the original Mass Effect along with the other two games is second to none. Though there are some minor design issues.” with the original game out there, the Legendary Edition is the best way to experience the Mass Effect trilogy. Period. “
The Swiss from Games.ch also praises the revised graphics, which can impress with 4K textures and many new effects. However, there is also criticism: Parts two and three are almost unchanged in terms of play, but have to forego the multiplayer part. Tester Benjamin Braun awards 88 points:
“With the” Mass Effect Legendary Edition “, Electronic Arts and Bioware deliver a largely flawless new edition of the Shepard trilogy. Part 1 in particular benefits from the higher resolution, the better textures, the new effects and – in contrast to the 360 original – Clean performance. Added to this are the game mechanics improvements, in which mainly small things are adjusted, which make the overall gaming experience more intuitive and simply better. For an ultimate remaster, Bioware would have had to touch the game mechanics and animations a little more, in particular You can’t just be absolutely satisfied as a fan of the new edition, which is why we can safely recommend the Legendary Edition to all fans of narrative and atmospheric, action-packed science fiction role-playing games. “
The lowest score (75 points) is currently from the Italian side of Spaziogames. Author Paolo Sirio criticizes, among other things, that the remaster in 1080p resolution appears washed out and not much more beautiful – in 4K, however, the remaster should be a feast for the eyes, in which the improved textures are particularly noticeable.
“Although some of the flaws from the original games have been retained, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition (and especially the remaster of ME1 and the modern take on the storyline) is worth it again by fans and those who have always wondered what it is was special about the franchise and never tried to be explored. “
