A outdated WhatsApp version is a possible reason that you cannot see the function. However, if your operating system and WhatsApp are up to date, a complete reinstallation of WhatsApp can help. The app uses so-called cache files, which could possibly be outdated or damaged. You often don't notice that, but you can make sure that some features do not work properly. With the new installation, the cache files are deleted and the intermediate memory reinstalled.
