Metal Gear Solid is supposed to be made into a film, but things have been suspiciously quiet about the project lately. But now there is finally a fresh update!
The stealth action series Metal Ge ar Solid is set to make the leap to the big screen and be made into a film. A film like this has been planned for many years, but hasn’t really gotten off the ground – and recently things have been suspiciously quiet around the project. But there seems to be no reason to worry, because now there is finally a small update.
Producer Ari Arad has commented on the current status of the film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid and confirmed that it is still in the works. “We are currently working a bit more on the script, but I can’t talk about it yet,” said Arad. So things seem to be moving a bit more, especially when it comes to the actual plot of the film.
Arad also raises hopes among the numerous Metal Gear fans: “I think that everyone will be really excited and surprised,” says the producer regarding the upcoming film adaptation.
The original plan for the project was for Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“Kong: Skull Island”) to direct. Oscar Isaac (“Moon Knight”, “Dune”) was cast as the lead actor. It is not known whether the two are still set to appear in the film adaptation of Metal Gear Solid.
In the meantime, work on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is also progressing, which could possibly be released in 2024. A GameStop leak recently suggested November 17, 2024 as a potential release date, but denied this information a short time later. An official announcement is also still pending.
