this is an important day metal gear fan. In addition to the announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater — coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam later this year — we’ve also learned via codec that a collection of three classic MGS games will also be coming to ” Autumn/Fall” to PS5.
If you’ve been itching to relive the earlier Metal Gear series, you’ll be happy to learn that they’re coming out of the shadows in the form of Metal Gear Masters Collection Volume 1.
The first of a hypothetical compilation would include the original Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater.
At the time of writing, there’s no word on a more specific release date, or whether the collection will come to platforms other than PlayStation 5. Given that Snake Eater Remastered is also targeting PC and Xbox Series X/S, we hope this won’t be limited to PlayStation 5…but you never know what marketing deals are going on behind closed doors.
Those of you grizzled, box-loving veterans out there might remember that this isn’t the first time Snake’s adventures have been brought together in one place. There’s also a Metal Gear HD Collection originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360, which also includes the first three MGS games, as well as Peace Walker and the two original Metal Gear games. Maybe those other titles are what we can get from whatever Master Collection 2 has given us.
