Is the once-popular stealth action series Metal Gear Solid returning? There has already been speculation in the past – and this is now getting new fuel!
Virtous is a Singapore-based development studio that has historically excelled at helping create AAA games. Most recently, the studio released a video of part of the team based in Montreal. It deals with the daily processes at the developer. Interesting: Metal Gear Solid also has a small appearance.
At approximately runtime 1:12 in the video you can see the book “The Art of Metal Gear Solid” lying in the lower right corner. Coincidence or an intentional teaser? In principle, the placement of the book can of course be a simple homage or the mere presentation of a source for inspiration, but in this case there could really be more to it.
The reason for this assumption is a report by Video Games Chronicle last year, which reported that Konami was looking to re-enter the AAA development business. Among other things, the colleagues reported back then that several Silent Hill games are said to be in the works at various external studios – a fact that has recently been officially confirmed. The other information shared in the article at that time could therefore also be of particular importance.
In addition to a Castlevania comeback, there was also talk of a remake of Metal Gear Solid – and this article already claimed that the development studio Virtous should be entrusted with it. Is the placement of the book in the video therefore to be understood as an intended teaser? You give it to him VGC
Of course, we’ll keep you up to date on the rumor and report whether the co-developers of The Outer Worlds, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order or Horizon: Zero Dawn are actually working on the comeback of Solid Snake.
