A series of new job listings from the 4A Games career page (via PSU) indicate that the studio is working hard to develop a new “Triple A IP”. One of the studio’s vacancies is a senior game designer, so the game seems to be still in the early stages of development of the “New AAA IP for Metro Series Manufacturers”.

But what will this new game look like? The list doesn’t reveal much about this mysterious new project, but we know that 4A hopes it will include “the most vivid video game environment ever.”

The last game we saw from 4A Games was Metro Exodus in 2019. Soon after the game was released, publisher THQ Nordic pointed out that a new game in the series is indeed still under development.

The upcoming franchise will revolve around “a thorough overhaul of the engine and renderer to take advantage of the new features, storage, and hardware-supported ray tracing provided by the new console.” Metro games have always looked great, so you might expect the next game in the series to look even more impressive.

Deep Silver and 4A Games also released an upgraded version of Metro Exodus for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in May of this year. You can read our Metro Exodus review here.
