4A Games has kept its word and has now released the shooter Metro Exodus for the new PS5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles. Previous generation owners will get an upgrade, and PC gamers will have reason to be happy too.
Deep Silver and 4A Games have not only released Metro Exodus for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, but are also giving owners on PS4 and Xbox One a free upgrade to the optimized version if they have already bought the newer consoles. The Gen 9 version of the shooter runs in 4K resolution at 60 fps.
Apart from this, there are of course other improvements. For example, Xbox Series X and PS5 have full ray-traced lighting throughout. Both the base game and DLC packs also offer Ray Traced Global Illumination (RTGI) and Ray Traced Emissive Lighting technology, which were introduced in the original version and the expansion “The Two Colonels”.
Thanks to the SSD optimizations used, you can still look forward to drastically reduced loading times. In addition to the aforementioned 4K texture packs, there are also a number of platform-specific features, including spatial audio and controller latency improvements on Xbox. The DualSense controller is of course supported separately on the PS5.
