Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 had an extremely bumpy start ten days ago, mainly due to server performance. These problems should now be resolved.
The launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was essentially a complete crash landing. The servers in particular caused problems that even made them unplayable, both when downloading the client and when it came to the all-important data streaming. Annoying because it was basically avoidable from the start.
But at least Microsoft and Asobo have rolled up their sleeves and worked on fixing the problems – to the extent that Microsoft has now given the all-clear. Jörg Neumann, head of the Flight Simulator team, announced this on the game's official website.
“We are pleased to announce that the access and streaming issues have been resolved,” Neumann wrote. “The capacity of the distribution layer has been increased to accommodate the tremendous interest in the simulator, and reliability is now over 99.99%. Our servers and services are also all working as expected.”
We are also working on bug fixes. A hotfix for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has already been released, which should, among other things, improve stability. According to Neumann, another patch with various fixes and optimizations will be installed next week. Another, more extensive patch will follow in the week of December 9th.
However, there is still a bigger catch and that lies with third party add-ons from the previous Flight Simulator, which block access to the game. “Until we determine what content is causing these issues, we will temporarily disable all non-aircraft-related content from MSFS 2020 in MSFS 2024,” explains Neumann. The upcoming third patch will contain a secure start option to bridge the gap, which will deactivate all third-party content when the game starts if there are problems with the normal game start.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 uses the latest technologies and allows you to fully live out your dream of a career in aviation.
