After announcing an increase in the price of Xbox Live Gold yesterday, Microsoft reversed the decision.
Not only will the pricing remain the same, but now, you will no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play free games on Xbox.
The company said in a statement: “We messed up today. You are right. We are right.” “Communication and playing with friends is an important part of the game. We have failed to satisfy the players who rely on it every day. Expectation. Therefore, we decided not to change Xbox Live Gold pricing.
“We are turning this moment into an opportunity to make Xbox Live more in line with the way we treat the player as an experience center. For free games, you will no longer need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play these games on Xbox. We Efforts are being made to implement this change as soon as possible in the coming months.”
For users currently using Xbox Live Gold, you will keep the current price for renewal. New members and existing members can continue to pay USD 9.99 for 1 month, USD 24.99 for 3 months, USD 39.99 for 6 months and USD 59.99 for 12 months (or equivalent local currency).
