Microsoft X Activision Blizzard: FTC finally drops an action against takeover

Action, Activision, Blizzard, Drops, finally, FTC, Microsoft, TakeOver

The takeover of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft is finally in dry cloths: the FTC complaint has now been placed.

The billion -dollar takeover of the Publishers Activision Blizzard with all its loan – above all, of course, Call of Duty – the game industry has worked for many years through Microsoft. This was also due to all because several cartel guards around the globe expressed concerns and Microsoft had to accommodate various fronts.

Until the end, the American Federal Trade Commission, FTC for short, showed itself the most stubborn and continued to say Microsoft. Most recently, another complaint from the FTC against the deal failed in court – and now the topic has finally ended.

The FTC now drops the procedure against the takeover deal completely. A statement states: “The Commission has come to the conclusion that the public interest is best served if the administrative procedure is hired in this case. Therefore, it is hereby ordered that the complaint is rejected in this matter.”

Microsoft President Brad Smith subsequently commented on social media and of course was enthusiastic about the victory achieved: “Today's decision is a victory for players across the country and for common sense in Washington. We are grateful for today's announcement.”

The deal, originally finalized in October 2023 after a first victory over the FTC over $ 68.7 billion, is now finally sealed.
